Zumba Members,

As most of you are aware, I am pregnant and on "maternity leave" from teaching Zumba. I plan on starting back late-August or September - around the time that school starts back. Please check my website toward the end of the summer to find out exact date and time classes will resume. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I hope to see you in the fall.

Over my maternity leave, I plan on working on some new songs and choreography to start off with in the fall. I'd like to thank all of you for being a part of my Zumba classes - I've really enjoyed teaching the classes and meeting so many wonderful people!

What is Zumba®?

The Zumba® fitness class fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves to create a one-of-a-kind fitness program that will blow you away. Zumba is based on the principle of interval training - alternating high intensity and lower intensity exercise which works for both beginners and advanced exercisers.  In Zumba, changes in intensity are driven by the different rhythms of the music and the steps - without the negative effects of high impact aerobics. We start with a warm up, then move through 6-7 routines which vary in intensity and style. The dance styles include merengue, salsa, reggaeton, calypso, cumbia, mambo, cha-cha, and even a little Latin hip hop and the traditional grapevine!  Zumba blends traditional dance steps with basic fitness moves so everyone can participate - it's very easy to follow. We finish with a cool down and stretch to bring the heart rate down and relax the muscles.

Zumba will get your heart pumping and increase your endurance - you'll have more energy and burn fat. The moves will work your core, back and hips to strengthen and define them.
